🌿🌻Help us keep our teens working and thriving this summer!

Hello,

In Chicago, summer and violence often go hand in hand. Every decision made by teenagers in under resourced communities, whether taking public transportation or visiting a friend's house, is overshadowed by the constant fear for their own safety and that of their loved ones.

However, amidst the alarming headlines, there remains a significant untold narrative—the stories of those who endure the daily burden of fear.

This summer, One For One Chicago is committed to not only providing positive opportunities for our young people, but also shedding light on the transformational power that these opportunities, community unity and safe passages can do to lift the human spirit.

Your support continues to be critical for our young people to grow and thrive....please consider a donation as we head into summer.

With gratitude,
Meghan Olson—Founder & Executive Director, One For One Chicago

We are thrilled to partner this summer with The Trotter Project, a non-profit organization that continues Chef Charlie Trotter’s legacy through service to others, for our Keeping Grounded summer garden program at Catalyst Schools Circle Rock Elementary School garden in the Austin community. Many more updates to come once the garden program officially kicks off later in June—stay tuned!

Meet Our Agricultural Curriculum Director!

Ms. Carol Williams is back again to lead our garden program this summer! Before retiring a few years ago, Ms. Williams led Marshall High School's Agricultural Science Academy in Garfield Park. We are so lucky to have her on our team. For her full bio and to see a list of our Advisory Board, go HERE.

"Now more than ever young people need positive summer experiences that challenge, engage and refocus their creative energies while sneaking in some science, math, reading, communication and workplace job skills. Agricultural success requires knowledge in all of these areas. The goal at the garden is teamwork, conflict resolution, financial literacy—and for some—their first tomato, first job, first paycheck. Looking forward to Summer 2023!"
